Review by hotel critic
As a boutique hotel manager and wine connoisseur, my recent stay at Lithos Traditional Guest Houses during the festive season was nothing short of enchanting. The warm welcome we received, despite arriving late due to a flat tire, set the tone for a truly memorable holiday experience. The beautiful stone buildings harmoniously blending with the serene surroundings immediately transported us to the heart of authentic Cycladic charm.Eleni, the hospitable landlady, went above and beyond to ensure our comfort and enjoyment. The tastefully decorated interior, adorned with unique 19th-century antiques, exuded a sense of tradition without any hint of exaggeration. From the well-stocked fridge with organic treats to the fully equipped kitchen, every detail was impeccably curated to enhance our stay. The spacious parking area, the undeniable cleanliness of the apartment, and Eleni's thoughtful gestures like a homemade cake truly made us feel at home. Being in the tranquil village of Xerokampos, with its sandy lonely beaches and authentic taverns nearby, provided the perfect setting to slow down, relax, and savor the beauty of Greek hospitality at its finest.Lithos Traditional Guest Houses not only offered us a slice of paradise but also a genuine connection to the Cycladic lifestyle. The access to the Libyan Sea, the proximity to the heavenly palm grove, and the rich history of the region added layers of depth to our holiday experience. For anyone seeking a peaceful retreat steeped in history and natural beauty, this hidden gem in eastern Crete is a must-visit destination. In the end, I can confidently say that our stay at Lithos was a blend of luxury, tradition, and heartfelt hospitality - a true reflection of the Greek spirit that warms the soul and leaves a lasting impression. I look forward to returning to this peaceful haven with family and friends to create more cherished memories under the Mediterranean sun.
